The ABA has come up with its new opinion on the amount of cases that public defenders should handle. 150 felonies; 400 misdemeanor; 200 juvenile; 200 mental health; and 25 appeals. So how is the running with everyone elses dockets?

It looked to me like those standards said "or" before the 25 appeals...so if 150 felonies equals 400 misdemeanors, then...damn, I was never any good at math!
It should read "or" and not "and".
Then I guess that I need to take the rest of the year off...
I don't think that these caseload numbers are new -- I think what's new is the fact that we are ethically bound to refuse cases.
Yeah, right. Sounds to me like that's an ass-chewing waiting to happen.
Does this mean I only have to work through March? Because that's about when I'll max out on those caseload guidelines.
